DEEPDIPS ADDRESSES THE SURGE OF REALISTIC, YET FAKE, VIDEO CONTENT ON PLATFORMS LIKE TIKTOK, INSTAGRAM, AND YOUTUBE. THE PROJECT WAS CONCEIVED TO COMBAT THE SPREAD OF DEEPFAKES AND SENSITIZE YOUNG AUDIENCES TO THEIR POTENTIAL IMPACT.
DEVELOPED AND PRODUCED IN COOPERATION WITH ANNABLUME ON BEHALF OF THE CLIENT, BUNDESZENTRALE FÜR POLITISCHE BILDUNG (BPB), THE PROJECT ADOPTED A NOVEL APPROACH. IT LEVERAGED ARTISTICALLY-CRAFTED DEEPFAKES AS A PLAYFUL ENTRY POINT, CREATING CONTENT IN COLLABORATION WITH POPULAR TIKTOK CREATORS SUCH AS SIMON.BTH, ADRIAN KOZAKIEWICZ, KHOI TRUONG, MISS MI, AND LAURA ANTONIA. THIS STRATEGY AIMED TO EDUCATE VIEWERS DIRECTLY ON THE PLATFORM ABOUT HOW TO RECOGNIZE AND IDENTIFY FAKE MEDIA.
