out of office — gone to fusion

the lab is closed from 24 to 30 june. no briefs, no calls, no turnaround times. we are at fusion festival, deliberately out of range of work culture and whatever a deliverable is supposed to be this quarter.

this is not a holiday in the productivity sense — the one where you rest so you can return as a more efficient unit. it is the opposite. for a week we are detaching from the logic that treats every hour as billable and every output as a file someone is waiting for. the work is better when the people making it are not optimised into the ground.

we have history here

fusion is not a random field to disappear into. in 2023 we showed metaworse there — a six-channel video art installation, and one of the more openly activist things we have made.

metaworse is not only a glimpse into the manifested misstep of a questionable wishful thinking, and the urge of a group of narcissists to return to their boundless, beloved reality at any cost. it is also a system critique that finds its tradition in an almost activist approach. we presented the last minutes of the escape and a glimpse into the mind of a handful of questionable characters we would rather not have in any of our realities.
